GrandMA3 Basic Course EN

GrandMA3 Basic Course in English from the 17th until the 21st of November 2025.

In this basic course for operating the GrandMA3, we will create a show together step by step.

We start with an empty show file, add the patch to connect our fixtures, setup our screen layout, make selections, create groups, manage attributes, use presets, learn about different preset types, prepare cue's and sequences, set priorities, assign executors, define all types of masters, discover phasers and many more. By the end of the week we will not only have created a complete working show, but we will also have learned what every part of the show is for and how we can adapt it to our needs.

In a small group, each student will create their own show. After explaining the next step, there is time to put this into practice and include it into the show. That way we can resolve all questions that will arise during the process. The teacher will also prepare a new show that can be used as in example.

Don't worry if you miss (part of) a session. Every session will be recorded and the recordings will be made available to the students for one month. This will make it easy to recover a missed session or to watch an explanation for a second time.

As we are going to practice with the GrandMA3 (onPC) software during the sessions, students should have at least two computer monitors available for this course. One monitor to follow the session and another monitor to practice with the GrandMA software. If you have a GrandMA3 console available, you can practice directly on the console. If not, you can download the GrandMA3 onPC software free from the official MA website and install it on a PC or Mac computer.
